On 15.11.2021 public defense of doctoral dissertation by Kazimierz Józefiak, entitled Constitutive modelling of soil properties as subgrade for concrete pavements took place. The dissertation was supervised by prof. Artur Zbiciak.
The dissertation was revied by: Małgorzata Jastrzębska, PhD and prof. Adam Zofka.
The defense was successful and resulted in conferring doctoral degree to Kazimierz Józefiak.
Between 4th and 8th October 2017 International Conference on Computational and Experimental Science and Engineering (ICCESEN) was held in Antalya-Turkey. The conference was attended by employees of the Department of Theoretical Mechanics and Pavement Modelling and the following lecture was presented:

During the inauguration of the academic year 2014/2015 Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering presented the awards granted by the Rector of WUT for three employees of the Department:
1. Prof. dr hab. Eng. Wacław Szcześniak and Dr. Eng. Magdalena Ataman - team award of second degree
for scientific achievements,
2. Dr hab. Eng. Lesław Kwasniewski prof. WUT - individual award of second degree for scientific achievements.
The winner of the last edition of the "Theses with use of Abaqus" Award organized by BUDSOFT, was a graduate of Theory of Structures Kazimierz Józefiak, MSc. His work, done under the supervision of Artur Zbiciak, PhD, DSc, was called "FEM analysis of flexible and semi-rigid pavements including inelastic properties of structural layers" [in Polish].
The celebration of the 17th National Congress of PZITB Delegates (Polish Union of Civil Engineers and Technicians) took place on 1 - 3 June 2012. At the time of the meeting it was the presentation of the Prof. Stefan Bryła Award for Artur Zbiciak, PhD, DSc.
